Silverfish

Silverfish are small, flat insects that belong to one of the most primitive group of insects. Most silverfish are found outdoors, but can be found inside when they search for starchy substances to feed on (like book bindings, flour, paper, and natural cloths). Silverfish are nocturnal, often venturing out at night to find food sources. They’re often found in cool, damp places, like basements and under sinks. Silverfish prefer being outdoors, and an infestation is unlikely, but if you are noticing any within your home getting them under control is key. Silverfish are common prey insects for other pests, like centipedes and spiders, so removing them from the household reduces the likelihood of their natural predators following.
